Where it all started: our father's trade
Long before there was an AJ Construction Inc, there was a father who brought his two boys to work with him. Weekends, summers, every school break — carrying lumber, sweeping up, and slowly earning real responsibility as we proved we could handle it. Thirteen years later, we had our own tools, our own crews, and a name we are proud of across El Dorado County and Greater Sacramento. And through it all, our dad has stayed close — still the first call whenever a job needs another set of experienced eyes.
What he passed down to us was not just the trade — it was the standard behind it: show up when you say you will, leave the site clean, and tell a homeowner the truth, especially when the truth costs more than they hoped. That is the version of this business we grew up believing in, and it is the only version we build.

AJ Construction Inc holds a Class B General Building licence with the California State Licence Board — issued November 2024, licence #1129358, bonded to $25,000. That licence means we can take full responsibility for a project from foundation to finish, not just one trade, and it is something you can verify for yourself in under a minute.
We are still very much a family business, and that is by design. When you call, one of the owners answers. When we give you a price, it is because we are the ones doing the work. And if something needs attention along the way — because construction sometimes calls for that — you are talking directly to the family whose name is on the truck, not a call centre.

What we will not do

A written scope and estimate covering the work, the materials and the price — itemised, so you can see exactly what you are paying for.
We build it
Our own crew, a start date we hold to, and a site that gets cleaned up at the end of every day. You always know who is in your house.
We walk it again
Final walkthrough together. Anything you are not happy with goes on a punch list and gets handled before we call the job done.
